BRAKE INSPECTION

Inspecting and servicing your brakes to make sure that all parts of your braking system (including brake fluid, rotors, brake pads and calipers) are in good working condition is so important! It helps to keep your brake system working properly between replacements and can save you money down the line. Your brake system affects the handling, safety and the overall performance of your car so it must be properly maintained and inspected to ensure you have the safest and most comfortable driving experience possible.

SPARE TIRE INSPECTION/SERVICE

Why Do I Need a Spare Tire Checks service?:

The Spare Tire Checks service is the inspection of the condition of your spare tire to make sure you're ready for anything. We do these checks so that our customers can rest assured that they are ready to replace a damaged tire in any situation. Drivers often don't think to consider whether their spare tire is worn out because it is not being used as heavily as the vehicle's other four tires. To avoid noticing spare tire damage when you need to use it, allow us to inspect your spare tire and assure you that it is safe to use!

WIPER BLADES

Wiper blades are one of the simplest components you can find on a vehicle - yet we know they work hard to keep us safe! They are made of thin rubber or halogen-hardened rubber, and they're designed to flex as they move across your windshield. This allows them to pull water, snow, slush, dirt, and grit off to the side - enabling you to see where you're going. You don't want to be in the middle of a storm before you realize you need to change your wiper blades. It's easy to forget, but it's important that we put wipers on the maintenance schedule. It's best if you replace them twice a year.

What causes them to wear down?:

Regular use. Friction between the windshield and the wiper blade inevitably lead to wearing. As the rubber in the blade breaks down, it no longer flexes as effectively to the shape of the windshield.

WHY YOU NEED YOUR ALIGNMENT CHECKED

Most things work better when they're in proper alignment, and your tires are no exception! When they're properly aligned, getting anywhere is smoother, and when they're not, everything from your steering to tread wear suffers. If you think your wheels may need to be aligned, come in and let one of our technicians check your vehicle for free!

Signs You Need an Alignment:

  • Your tires or tread are worn on one edge-the surest sign of misaligned wheels.
  • Your vehicle pulls left or right when you're cruising a straight, smooth road.
  • Your steering wheel shimmies, feels loose, or is hard to turn.

FRONT AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL SERVICES

The differential uses an oil thicker than motor oil, somewhere between an oil and a grease in terms of its weight. Like any other assembly, though, the oil in the differential will become contaminated over time and will start to break down due to heat.. If left too long or if the fluid starts to run low, the differential will become noisy and can eventually fail. If that happens, the gears can seize, locking up the rear wheels and potentially causing a lot of damage or even an accident. Differential oil, also commonly known as gear oil, which is used to lubricate differentials. Since gear oil is basically the equivalent of what engine oil is to the engine, it plays a very important role in protecting the differential, allowing it to do its job safely and smoothly. When the fluid gets dirty or contaminated it can put the components that it is meant to protect at risk of accelerated wear and even permanent damage. Usually bad or failing differential oil will produce a few symptoms that can alert the driver of a potential problem that should be serviced.

COOLANT FLUSH

What are the benefits of a coolant flush?:

  • Coolant flushes remove rust and scale deposits, which build up over time. It's important to get rid of these deposits because they can cause overheating and damage your entire cooling system.
  • The new anti-freeze contains additives that work to lubricate your automobile's water pump, which can help extend the life of your water pump. These additives can also help prevent rust from building up in the water pump, which allows the cooling system to operate more efficiently.
  • Over time, the old anti-freeze loses its anti-corrosive properties, which allows for contaminants to build up in the cooling system. Getting a coolant flush will completely clean these particles from the system.
  • When you get a coolant flush, it is also common to receive an inspection of your entire cooling system including the thermostat, radiator and all hoses and belts. This is beneficial because it checks for leaks and other potential problems.
  • Getting a coolant flush will prevent the old anti-freeze from becoming acidic. This is important because once it starts to become acidic it will break down and can damage the bearing in the water pump, the rubber hoses and the aluminum components of the engine.

TRANSMISSION FLUSH

The transmission fluid in your vehicle is a critical part of the health of your transmission, providing hydraulic power and lubrication necessary for the intricate parts to operate properly. Over time, this fluid gets dirty or breaks down through heat, and needs to be replaced with a transmission flush. Not only does this help keep your car's transmission running at its best, but it can also extend the life span of the transmission itself.

What a Transmission Flush Does:
A transmission flush not only replaces your expended transmission fluid, but it also cleans the transmission as it changes the fluid over. It also manages to replace more of the fluid than a simple draining and replacement procedure does, so you get more improved performance after a full flush than you do after a simple replacement.

Benefits of cleaning your transmission with a flush as you replace the fluid:

  • Reduce or eliminate debris or contaminants that appear in the transmission over time as parts wear.
  • Obtain a more complete replacement of the fluids.
  • Lower wear and tear on other engine system components, promoting overall vehicle life.
